Hi, I’m the Clapham & Battersea Rep for MAMA.codes.
I run after school and weekend coding classes for kids aged 3 - 8 years, and also offer private home tutoring.
Coding is a key skill for today’s generation. Our unique approach to teaching coding and computational thinking is the ideal launch pad for young children.
There are currently classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school (4pm) and a Sunday class at 1.30pm but I’m looking at starting more classes.

Winterville has applied to hold their annual Christmas event on Clapham Common once again this year. There is a meeting at Lambeth Hall with the Planning Applications Committee to discuss this, which you should attend if you would prefer Winterville to be held somewhere else this year.

Winterville 2017 caused damage to the Common, some of which is still visible now. You don't need to register or say anything at the meeting; the more faces that show up, the better. It will apparently be the first item on the agenda, so if you don't want to stay for the full meeting you will be able to leave after the discussion on Winterville has taken place. Everyone welcome.

Just thought I would share that I tried out a new fitness class this morning at a new(ish) place in Clapham - it's called Oncore, near the Big Sainsburys on Clapham Park Road. Their USP is that they are not a gym but just do spin and HITT classes as well as yoga, all 45 minutes and they start from 6am. Hi. A few months ago a tree surgeon came round to cut down a tree in our garden. Recently I've noticed shoots growing from the stump and wondering how to kill the roots. Any ideas? I'd prefer not to use chemicals if possible.

Hi, hoping someone can help! A baby bird has fallen from its nest in my garden and I'm not sure what to do. Mummy bird and baby bird are making lots of noise, and are clearly very distressed. Baby has feathers and I've not attempted to touch him/her as per advice I remember from when I was a child. Anyone dealt with this situation before? Is there anyone I can call to help? Hi, I've taken a job in the city to start next month, around London Bridge area, after working locally for a long time. I'm interested in cycling to work instead of tubing it as it's obviously cheaper and it'll be nice to get some exercise in.

My question is, how do you know the route the first few times, or do you just have to memorise the directions from Google maps? I've only ever travelled into zone 1 on the tube so above ground, I have no idea where to go! Apologies if there is an obvious answer. I'm new to all of this (clearly).

You can buy groceries in Sainsburys without going to the checkout in Clapham North. Shoppers can scan their own items and pay for them via an app on their smartphone. I really, really hope this doesn't take off but I already know it will. Such a shame for all the people who work there and in other Sainsburys this tech will eventually hit. I'll be boycotting from now on...

Apart from the tube, apparently Motorcycles are the quickest mode of transport to get around London, with pushbikes coming second. It takes more than 10 minutes more to do a mile in rush hour by car/bus, than it does by pushbike. It is actually quicker to walk than drive or catch the bus.

So Asda and Sainsburys are merging together. Never saw that coming as they both have different audiences (Asda was a lot cheaper than Saisnburys last time I checked...). Analysts predict at least 75 stores will close apparently, worrying times for the staff.

HI guys...my favourite living room lamp keeps blowing its bulbs - have gone through four in two days. I suspect it's something quite simple but don't want to tamper but nor do I want to fork out for a call out if I can avoid it. Does anyone know of an electrical shop I can take it into to have it looked at?

We just moved to Clapham (loving it so far!) and need to re-do the bathroom. We're looking for recommendations for bathrooms if anyone can please assist? We need everything, bath, sink, taps, tiles etc. I've seen a few bits in Fired Earth and would appreciate some opinions as they are quite ££ but their Google reviews aren't great.
