Hi all,
It was brought to our attention that there is a lot of confusion around the report feature on Scooploop and questions about how reports are being dealt with.
We would like to confirm that we do take the well-being of this website and our users very seriously, and reports are not ignored. If you do come across inappropriate content, there is indeed an option to report this after which, these will be passed through the Scooploop moderators and be dealt with.
However, since everyone on Scooploop is different, and may perceive comments differently, we would like to emphasize that we have a list of things we moderate which can be found on our Scooploop FAQ. We also expect group admins to moderate their group accordingly to these guidelines.
These are listed below:
i) Posts or comments which can be reasonably understood as racist, sexist or discriminatory
ii) Content that contains nudity, pornography or profanity.
iii) Offensive posts attacking users
iv) Disclosing personal details of users against their will
v) Spamming the community page
We moderate everything in the website fairly and objectively, and content that does contain any of the above, will be seen through the perspective of staff that is keeping a neutral position.
We also would like to gently remind the group admins that with great power comes great responsibility:
Since you are running a group with dozens, if not, hundreds of people in it, you are to take the well-being of each member into consideration.
If we notice that you have breached the Scooploop guidelines, we will personally have to take action against you.
We would also like to point out, that everyone runs their group differently and certain discussions may not adhere to your preferences. If this is the case, we strongly advise you to cease participation in those group and look for other groups which may be more suitable to your preferences. There are plenty of groups on Scooploop and we are confident that there is a group for everyone!
If you fail to find any group that suits your preferences, you always have an option to create your own group and your own set of guidelines for everyone to follow.
Best,
Scooploop Team
