Bug: Incorrect launch of Scooploop weblink from Android app [second attempt]
The following thread is in the Tech Heads group:
https://www.scooploop.com/loop/thread/slug/virgin-drastically-changing-payg-charging-policy-wef-18-november-2019
The first comment from Antoinette includes this link:
https://m.scooploop.com/loop/thread/slug/switching-to-new-mobile-payg-phone/
Viewing the linked thread in Firefox on a laptop, and clicking on the link, just opens another Scooploop page, exactly as you'd expect (and it correctly changes from the mobile site too).
However, viewing the thread and clicking the link from within the Android app launches the linked Scooploop thread in a Firefox tab. (Firefox is my default browser on mobile, and is already running.) When the thread opens, only the original post text and the page footer are visible: none of the comments can be seen, only an inactive link saying '31 comments'.
Clicking on the menu icon gives a major clue -- I'm not logged-in to Scooploop on Firefox, so I cannot see the whole thread!
So the basic question must be: when a Scooploop URL (effectively an internal link) is launched from the app, why is it opened in an external browser rather than within the app?
The three photos are screen-grabs from my phone, showing the top and bottom of the opened thread, as visible in Firefox, and the result of clicking the menu icon.
