As mentioned before, we are making upgrades related to user location.
Specifically, we've standardised our database of locations for the UK and all other countries; meaning that they now share the exact same logic. In more human terms, we're dropping the exact postcode information that was only taken from users in the UK. Effectively this means that you will be able to update your location now by its name, not postcode.
Hopefully this change will end the issue of unmatched locations, wrong names and so on. The location search tool that you are now given doesn't work perfectly (we are working on improvements) but it should be good enough for you to choose any location that you want.
As usual, please report any errors to us as this was a massive change in the system. The newest app release (1.38.04) is also ready for that change.

I have just been advised by SL that if a member is evicted from a Loop by the moderator, the system automatically blocks the member from re-entry.
The Loop moderator cannot undo an eviction.

We are currently upgrading our UK location functionality and as a result some of you may find your location has been slightly moved. The few of you that maybe affected do not panic, there will be a simple tool to change to your exact location shortly.

Today, clicking on notifications is taking me only to the thread, not the actual comment. It would be fine if the latest comment were always at the end, but of course it could be in a reply anywhere in the thread.

My three dot menu - top right of a post is not working for my own or any other post.

Asked me to log in , normally auto. Extremely sluggish in loading. When posting takes ages then says cannot post for tech reasons, then finds it's posted anyway. Anyone else. Android app.

Keep getting numbers on the loop icon at top but they are the new threads i have posted.

Comments take ages even getting into a loop takes a long while and posting a new thread is worse.

Is it just me/my laptop ?, other sites seem okay.

The SL site has two tracking cookies -

1 - Google and 1 - Facebook analytics.

Both of which my Avast Online Security and DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials extensions block.

I am rather surprised to see that posts for the Bromley area are being read by people as far away as Norfolk. I do not understand what is local about it.

I get the odd email about what I have missed from Scooploop, suddenly they are addressed to AnnaP which isn’t me.

Just noticed is it a new thing. At the end of a long thread, there is no Back to loop now.

Polls should be given a completely separate loop under SL moderation.
No use posting a poll in a normal group with a 7 day period and let it get buried by general posts until it is out of sight.

This option is shown on the 3 dots but I don't know what it means, if I click it just stays on the same view I already have.

this post is meant mostly for loop moderators.

We've just introduced a long awaited page under you loop's settings box: Preferences.
There are two options for now, but to be extended to many more. It's a brand new piece of work (beta phase) and it's still being tested, also on the apps.

These changes are part of the plan to make Scooploop focused on Loops and related features, many more to come.
Any issues and error reports are welcome as per usual.

Is Search working correctly? I typed in Workshop and got a 500 error. Tryed again with Dog and Vera, again 500 error both times.

When I copy and paste text it shows as double spaced when I expand the post. When I go to edit it is in single space. Why?

I have turned my settings to off for all emails and notifications but I am still getting them. Android tablet.

had a thread come up in Community news which i always thought meant local but it is not showing there, so what exactly is community news ?

When I edited the wording in a comment the emojis disappeared and I had to re do them.

In the loop Guess the sketch I cannot reply - when i click it I get a blank page

1) When clicking the three menu bars (top right if screen) I get a totally white screen with an X in the top right (pic attached). I expect to be able to see my groups at that point.

2) Although I have no unread items, my loop list is showing 5. I'm not sure if it should or if I'm expecting too much, but I though it should be zero.

Sometimes there is no number on my bell but when i click on it there are several notifications and then the red number comes up.

we've just updated the website and the app with many changes related to notification system. The page itself gained a new look, but there are also a couple of important logical changes, i.e. ability to control email and push (app) notification separately, and a few others. The changes have been applied both to general user notifications and to loop notifications.
Any feedback and bug reports are welcome!

My 'new' labels have gone missing

I like the 'new' feature on replies but do not get them on new comments in all threads, it is there on some but not all.

I did not receive a notification for a new reply on a thread I am following in the Oasis loop.

Hi,
we've just updated the website with several bug fixes and upgrades. One of them is the way how removed content is handled now. If a moderator removes your post or comment (perish the thought!) you will be able to see the reason for this on the page rather via email only. To be added to user app as well shortly.
Please let us know if this works as expected.

Why do I get notifications and unable to read the comment? I presume the originator is the person who has blocked me and therefore I can't read the ongoing comments.

Why do we not get notifications when someone earns a badge ?, I get them in local when it is someone within my wider area but not in the general notifications.

Once again also asking why no notifications for new local threads or comments ?

we've just updated the website and introduced a "new" label that can be seen on a thread page next to new comments and new replies (under 3-dotted menu).
This feature should help you spot them easily, having received plenty of notifications originated in the same thread.
As usual, any feedback is appreciated.

Why are we seeing a "string" (not sure of the correct term) behind some peoples names when tagged in a comment?
Example:-
@Vera2. " target="_blank">data-user_id="3767426">@Vera2. ;

When there are a number of notifications on the dropdown panel, they are all shown shaded. .When one is clicked the shading to all the others in the same thread disappears and reference to any others in the same thread is completely lost from viewing due to looping.

The shading should remain until all the notifications have been individually viewed.
With the old sequencing of series comments, it would not matter, but with looping comments other than the one selected are lost to view.

Could members be sent a PM with the full explanation for the removal of a post or comments.
At the moment, I find the reasons are ambiguous and unhelpful. Example:- what does the reason for removal "The thread is dormant" mean?

I have yet to see any post listed under "Local" which is about local issues.
Every post that I could see there just now was about some form of sale, job opportunity etc. The mere fact that the person posting each item may be based within a few miles of me does not make the subject of these items "local".

Please would SL either rename this loop as "Marketplace" (or something that accurately describes what's being posted there) or actively redirect misposted items into some more appropriate location - such as "Business Opportunities".

I have tried 3 times now to clap or heart different posts and nothing happens? Any body else having same trouble -I am on Fire tablet.

How do I stop SL sending me emails ?

several changes have been made to the website:

1. There were cases when blocked person could see the blocker's content - that should have been fixed now. Please let us know if you still find any issues.

2. Several users were complaining they couldn't find their own comments after posting them, so now submitting a comment/reply from the feed redirects to that comment. Let's see if everyone is happy with that.

3. Also as per several users' complaints - viewing comment notification does not clear other comment notifications belonging to the same thread.

Why do some groups have a VIEW button and not a JOIN button ?

The last couple of days all the pictures people pit on are coming up top half only, have to click on them to see whole thing.

Can someone please tell me why I'm seeing the word false on some comments. Its where it tells you, where they are posting from.

Cannot find these rules, how and where can we read them ?

No group images, not able to send images, all avatars are missing, my comment box for a thread has no avatar - the account is difficult to operate like this. Have I been hacked ?

Hi scoopy, I know we can Mark notifications as read etc but could we clear them all from the list totally?

I thought I was getting the hang of them unfortunately if I want a comment to go on the correct sub-thread I have to put an @***** to make sure it goes into the correct place. Is there a way to make a general comment in a sub-thread without using @***** as this can look like a personal reply and not a general opinion?
