Hullo!
I've just taken a group for a walk around the site of the Crystal Palace. We ended at the Crystal Palace Museum and it was excellent. I commend this small museum yet perfect museum to everyone.
http://www.crystalpalacemuseum.org.uk/
The museum truly brings alive the fabulous building that once dominated South London's skyline and the knowledgeable staff couldn't have been more helpful. It's only open on Sundays and admission is free. A fitting memorial to what's probably the UK's greatest ever building.

Hi I have just copied this from another site, but it's very close to where i live and thought i'd warn everyone.
"My friend had parked her car at the end of Lavender Sweep whilst I collected something from the sorting office on Lavender Hill. A woman dressed as a parking official knocked on her window to tell her that she had been caught on camera, that the parking App wasn't working so that she needed put her card in the parking machine to stop herself being fined £125. When I arrived, my friend was in a panic about having to pay a fine and asked if she could use my card. Meanwhile a man appeared behind us at the machine telling us that the same thing had happened to him. He then started "helping" us to press the right buttons, told me that I had not put in my full code so that I had to press the code in again. It would not work but when we tried to cancel the transaction, the machine swallowed my card. As my friend was still worried out her parking fine, we tried another card (seems ridiculous now!) and the same thing happened.
When I got back to the office, I cancelled the card (but not the pin because we thought that it was the machine that was at fault). Both my friend and I felt that the [slightly aggressive] man had made things much worse and that we felt that we had lost control of the situation.
THIS WAS A SCAM - I subsequently discovered that two amounts of £500 had been taken out of my account from the cash machine at Nat West, Clapham Junction. The bank informed me that they had also spent £1200 at Argos, Clapham Junction and I later discovered that £300 cash had been taken from the second card from the same cash machine.
The matter has been reported to the police and to Action Fraud online. I have reported this information to the police."

Childcare/nursery recommendations please

Some info regarding Christmas recycling in Wandsworth from the Council 😊 make sure decorations, pots and stands have been removed from trees and only put out real trees; the council won't take artificial ones away.

A Post-Christmas guided walk - 28th December
Hullo!
For the past 10 years I've led narrated walks for TfL's 'Walk London' project, almost entirely outside of SW London.
On Friday 28th I'm offering a local walk off my own bat and some places remain available. The route is the 9 miles of the 'Wandle Trail' from Wandsworth Town railway station to the very 'villagey' Carshalton, a location that can't help but look festive. We'll be starting at 10.00 and be finished by 16.00. There will be direct trains from Carshalton to Clapham Junction. A packed lunch is required and you may be surprised at the Wandle's considerable historical importance.
This is a notably rural footpath by London standards and makes for a highly attractive walk. See...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wandle_Trail
https://www.merton.gov.uk/leisure-recreation-and-culture/tourism-and-travel/local-attractions/the-wandle-trail
I don't charge for my own walks but happily accept donations towards my time and expenses.
If you'd like to participate or would like further information please e-mail...

This morning I realised that someone got into my car and tried to find the pot of gold, and left a big mess.
Take care how you leave your car and what you leave into it even if it’s just for 2 minutes.
Burglary is very trendy this time of the year.

Are there any arty crafty or drawing classes/clubs for kids after school in Battersea? My daughter (primary age) is showing to be quite creative and would like to join one. Any recommendations for weekend classes in SW London would be fab, as we have time to travel further on Sat/Sun.

Earlsfield now has it's first gin still. The first batch will be made with local Wandsworth honey.
We need your help to decide which variety to produce. So if you are thinking of going out this evening/ Thursday or Friday, pop into Ben's Canteen in Earlsfield. We will give you 3 G&Ts to try and we ask for your feedback.

Changes/Curtailing of Bus Routes - What we can do
I've received this from Leonie Cooper who's the London Assembly Member of Merton and Wandsworth.
"I’m glad you’ve completed the consultation - the really important thing is to get as many people you know to complete it and return it too, to ensure TfL thinks again.
I will be making this point to them when I meet them to discuss the consultation.
All best,
Leonie Cooper AM

Be aware of a dangerous man in Battersea area (Edited)
This 52 year old man is called Alec Hala, is of Ukrainian origin who is living in the block of flats right next to London House restaurant facing the river near Battersea Square. He has been causing chaos all over Battersea for sometime now.
In addition to placing poison for dogs near St Mary's Church Battersea he also used to hit women on the back of their necks as he was passing them by on the street.
He tends to ride an old bicycle and has a guitar case on his back. He normally wears his long grey hair out and with a black bandana around his forehead. (Please see his photos below)
On Monday 17th September 2018, he deliberately laid down on the road in Battersea Square in front of 170 bus refusing to move and falsely claiming that the bus hit him. The police had to be called in order to move him away from the road. This man is a danger to society and should be locked up either in prison or in a mental health institution as he is making Battersea and unsafe place for its residents.

Ice Cream van vendors driving without due care in Battersea Park. The ice cream vans drive along the pedestrian path marked as “No cycling” where children and dogs are playing and walking.
The ice cream vans tend to drive backwards and park opposite the children’s playground near Putt in The Park restaurant.
Please find photos of one of the ice cream vans that is parked outside Putt in the Park cafe below.
