I’ve upset a few people by my posting of messages I received from someone I’ve had no contact with and who made outrageous claims. I’d ask the people who have now left this group, what would they have done under the circumstances? Accept the message and soldier on? It’s no use suggesting contacting Scooploop as I’ve tried that regarding another issue. Any correspondence with them is ignored! What I would say is this; The person sending these messages is trying to disrupt Scooploop, and in this case has been successful to a certain extent by people leaving this group! I’d like to think they’d ponder on that. As a footnote, I noticed that Brianie felt the need to inform one of the members that left that I was indeed a ‘genuine member’. I think perhaps they must have sent a direct message to him making silly claims! I stated in my original post on this matter that I was bemused. Well, I can say now that I’m totally shocked at this outcome. -

Laura Kuenssberg has ‘mistakenly’ sent Boris Johnson her briefing notes ahead of an interview that was supposed to take part tonight on BBC1. The briefing notes were meant for her team. I find it highly suspicious that she could send briefing notes to the wrong recipient. I watched the vice presidential debate live in the early hours this morning. In my opinion it was mainly a disappointing non event. However, it was somewhat more enlightening in a small way than the Trump V Harris debate. Vance, questioned on the January 6th 2020 riots, sidestepped the question with ramblings. No surprise there. On the whole? I wish I hadn’t bothered. -

Has seen the light and has stated today that she has left the Conservative Party stating they have moved too far to the right. Former Tory chair Baroness Sayeeda Warsi has quit the Conservatives in a furious row just as the party is preparing to gather for a crucial conference on its future in Birmingham. The Muslim peer was brought in as chair by David Cameron in 2010 to help detoxify the party’s brand and bring it into the 21st century. But since leaving government in 2014 Warsi has had a difficult relationship with the Tory leadership consistently calling out racism and islamophobia in the Conservative Party. She has said that she is fed up of the party trying to gag her. -

A Russian ship, spotted off Margate Kent, is carrying 20,000 tonnes of high explosive ammonium nitrate, more than seven times the amount that caused the catastrophic explosion in Beirut, Lebanon, in 2020. Tonight, the Earth, the sun and the Super Harvest Moon will line up in space, causing a lunar eclipse. The eclipse will be far from total. At mid-eclipse, only 8% of the moon will lie in Earth's dark shadow. People will be able to watch the eclipse from around 01:41 18th September. What any eclipse proves is that our planet is a globe which undoubtedly upsets the flat earth brigade. -

I’ve recently upgraded my mobile phone and Apple have at last introduced the long awaited USB-C charging connection (as opposed to their lightning charging connection). This was because of an EU directive. There was hundreds of tons of discarded chargers and leads being dumped into landfill each year and something needed to be done. The USB-C connection has the added bonus of being a universal connector for all phones/tablets etc. the only proviso being , using the correct wattage output plug adaptor for the item being charged. A success story. -

Britain and the U.S. are poised to cross a decisive line in the Ukraine war on Friday at a White House summit where they will discuss plans to allow Kyiv to strike targets inside Russia with Western-supplied missiles. In a final bid to scare off the West, Russian President Vladimir Putin warned on Thursday evening he would regard such an agreement as tantamount to NATO directly entering the war. “This will mean that NATO countries, the United States, and European countries are fighting Russia,” he said. The threat came with U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer still en route to Washington ahead of Friday’s talks with President Joe Biden over Ukraine’s possible use of British-made Storm Shadow cruise missiles on Russian soil. -
