    Upminster Bridge Underground Station.

Some London Underground stations are renowned for their quirky designs.
But it turns out that one station has a design that isn’t so easy on the eye.
Upminster Bridge station is renowned for having a massive swastika on the floor. Originally, the swastika meant ‘good fortune’ in Sanskrit, and was often used in faiths such as Hinduism - but this was around 7,000 years ago.
The swastika used to mean good fortune and well-being before Hitler used it as the symbol of the Nazi party.
More recently, it was - obviously - adopted by the Nazi party in Germany from the 1920s onwards, forever becoming a notorious symbol of fascism. The symbol is now therefore synonymous for the vile and despicable acts of the Nazi Party. I have included a photograph of the floor ‘art’.
