"Residents at Camberwell Lodge Care and Nursing Home in Southwark have enjoyed getting out and about this Summer. After the brand-new care and nursing home was opened in May, our team at Camberwell Lodge have warmly welcomed the first residents to our beautiful home."

I filmed the same family some weeks ago when the kids were still all fluffy, seems they are proper teenagers now.

If you ever pass by on a sunny day, it's worth it. The photo might not do it justice, but the view over the city is awesome.

Possibly The Worst Password Ever
Also quite possibly the worst security code ever used in science fiction, I mean, what were they thinking?

"Scorched Places", a History Mapping Project
Starting the week on a more sombre note: "Scorched Places" is a project to document all places of the national-socialist book burnings in Germany in 1933. It's an important project considering that many of the events have been forgotten locally and the extent of the book burnings is not well known.
The website of the project has recently re-launched in German and English. Disclaimer: I have been involved in this on the technical side.

This seems to have been done quite recently (last year or so) because I did not notice it before.

Arthur C Clarke talks about communication, 1964
Science Fiction Author Arthur C Clarke in 1964, talking about how communication will look in "50 years". Pretty accurate prediction when it comes to mobile phones, mobile internet, video calls and remote working.

I was such a big fan of the Muppet Show as a kid. Only last year I found out that this - Muppets, Sex and Violence - actually existed (It was a pilot episode made by Jim henson).
That's so weird, wonder what my parents would have thought if they had known.

Last visit to Elephant & Castle Shopping Centre
After more than 50 years, Elephant & Castle Shopping Centre closed it doors today for demolition. A sad day for the area and a loss for the local community. This was a hub of small businesses, especially the european and latin community.

Severndroog Castle, build as a folly ( a "fake" castle) at the end of the 18th century, south-east of Greenwich. The castle is a masterpeice in perspective, seeing it from further away it appears large but is in fact tiny. It now houses a lovely cafe downstairs and a one-room museum upstairs.

Exploring the "Old Stable Block" in Ruskin Park
The "Old Stable Block" is an old set of buildings hidden away in a corner of Ruskin Park (Camberwell/Brixton). It is really a pity it is not used for the public.
