Whitton Adult Community Singing (WACS):
will give a short, informal and free presentation/performance of seasonal songs from home and across the Atlantic, with a free light refreshments.

We would like to welcome all our neighbours, near and further, to share the fruits of our term's singing practice with us. There will be a little optional audience participation. This event is Suitable for children.

On Saturday 11th December from 11.45 -12.30 followed by light refreshments

The Whitton Adult Singing Group will be offering an Informal Presentation of Seasonal and Joyful Songs,

popular here and across the Atlantic; including some songs with optional audience participation.

Our performance will take place on Saturday 11th December 11.45 - 12.30 with Mince Pies, Tea & Coffee

The event will take place in the main Function Hall at the Whitton Community Centre,

We meet in the largest Function Hall with loads, of Social Distancing, Ventilation, Regular Sanitation/Cleaning, and great songs from ALL GENRES - for ALL levels of ability, from Beginners to those with Experience missing a good sing! FREE TRIAL session on your first visit.

Whitton Adult Community Singers have been very active on Zoom: exploring, the culture of a wide range of countries and regions, through unison singing and poetry etc

We are managing to sing our hearts out, without fear of spreading Covid 19 - (or anything else) - for a modest fee of £2 per session - no charge for initial trial session. Sessions last between 60 & 90 minutes.

Principally through their songs, we endeavour to understand and celebrate a wide range of cultures, places and peoples.

Participants are kept regularly updated with relevant information and attachments of texts and/or sheet music for use in the following session - every Saturday morning starting at 11.00.

The songs are taught by Call & Response with plenty of repetition where new/unfamiliar songs require it

EVERYBODY is WELCOME - our project caters for beginners as well as those with some experience in singing.

Our half term was last Saturday 26th October; we start up again this coming Saturday 2nd November. WE WOULD WELCOME NEW COMERS NOW as we are preparing for our informal concert on Saturday 14th December at 11.45 - 12.30 followed by mince pies and other refreshments, at the Community Centre.

THE WHITTON ADULT COMMUNITY SINGERS will be performing some songs and inviting audience participation for some fun songs (Swing Low etc...) at 11.00 am this coming Friday 4th October at the Council's event, Full of Life Fair at: Rose Suite at the RFU Stadium Twickenham, Whitton Road.
We will also be exhibiting at a stall all day.

Every term time Saturday a Community Singing Group for adults (16+ if working) meets to sing together . Music of all genres for people of all culture, ages and genders. If you have ever been told you can't sing it is not true. We welcome complete beginners as well as people who have done group singing before. You can improve your singing skills like any other skills. Come and give yourself the chance.
People from all neighbourhoods welcome.

As well as all the helpful excercise classes available at the Whitton Community Centre there is also our own Community Choir, every Saturday morning between 11.15 & 12.15. We start every session with gentle stretching and deep breathing to prepare the body for the natural breath support required for singing. The songs we sing are taken from a wide variety of genres, cultures and times and are chosen for their feel good quality. Our sessions support good health and emotional well - being.

We are starting back this Saturday 8th September 11.15-12.15 at the Whitton Community Centre and we would welcome all adults -all genders -who want to have a go or gain more confidence.
We believe that learning is fun so no judgment is involved. Music and singing are the birthright of us all. It really is true that if you can speak then you can sing. No, you do not need to be able to read music. But you will be equally encouraged if you do have previous experience!

We started on May 6th 2017 and today we sang together a year later - with 4 of the dozen or so people who came to try out some group singing a year ago together with people who have joined us during our first year.
