Recommendations please for someone to sort out my washer - it seems to have dementia and wont stop spinning.
My energy suppliers have sent me an e mail asking me to increase my direct debit.
I have only been with them for 3 months and my bills have all been about £35 and i am paying £57 a month and am £116 in credit. as i paid a month in advance.
Anyone got an out back camera, and do you recommend it. Thinking of getting one after seen the hedgehog in the garden, wouldn't have know it was there except for the dog going off one. Now seen a baby fox in next doors jungle, just laying in the open, thanks once again to the dog. Chucking food over as dont know how its going to get food, and cant see an animal suffer. Seen no mother fox or dad fox so dont wont it to starve as dont think it can get out to get food. If I get an out back camera can see what come and goes in my garden as it all happens after dark.
Many moons ago on Streetlife someone [ and i think it was Peter] said we can now travel to Southend for £5 return fare, anyone know the details of this ?
An MP has said this should be treated as a disease and not a crime, what do you think ?
Ernie might have got rid of his telephone number on here. But its still visible on a site we all use. Ernie get rid of it.
i see we now have a new thing - an e mail notification when a new thread is put on - well done Scooploop
Hubby see a hedgehog in the garden last night, we haven't see one in our garden for over 20 years. This year we haven't had as many slugs and snails as we usually have, I think the hot weather has dried them up. So I'm sure this chap is looking for food. Can anyone tell me what I can put out to help it. Ta
I have an old DS Lite that needs attention, if anyone can repair it they are welcome to have it, I have a new one.
Sainsburys are running a trial till free supermarket in Clapham North where you scan your goods with a smart phone - what if you haven't got one ?, I think they may lose a lot of custom.

Possibly one for Dave
the new smoke alarm in my kitchen makes a funny noise when the boiler goes off [after running hot water] - it's almost as if the alarm is connected to the boiler - what is going on ?
There has been an item on the news about allowing transgender people to use either toilets, what is your opinion on this ?
Anyone use either of these ? - I find the sound on them really bad and have to turn my laptop speakers up to full volume and a lot of the programmes don't have subtitles.
Maybe it's just the sound on a Toshiba laptop is naff - it's okay on some things though.
Where's the workmen ? (Edited)
supposed to be having various workmen here today to do a complete re-wire, new boiler and radiators and rip out the bathroom for all new fittings. Start time 8 am so i'm up at 6 and moving things and clearing rooms - 9 oclock and 2 have just turned up [neither speaks any English] and after me moving everything out of the way for the re-wire [which i was told would be the first thing] it turns out they are not going to do that until Friday. So far - not so good
Need you clever lot to help me - again
my mobile phone is playing up - how can i find out what is wrong without taking it to a shop and paying silly fees ?
Sometimes during calls it goes all scrambled and the person the other end said it sounds like underwater - to me it is a load of gobbledegook.
When i put it on charge it sometimes says the battery is disconnected, have tried 2 different chargers, both work perfectly with my tablet.
Any ideas please ?
This is going to cause big differences of opinion but ...... what do you think about Khan permitting the Trump baby balloon ?
Wolf Whistles (Edited)
Read in the paper yesterday that men whistling at women could become a crime classed as misogyny. Seems ridiculous as misogyny is hated of women but wolf whistles have always been an appreciation of the female form.
What do you think ?
A while ago someone said either on here or on FB that there is a massive flypast this week and it will be going over Dagenham/Barking.
Anyone know about this and when it will happen ?
Some young girl in Dagenham is asking people to pay to bury her grandmother. Why has her grandmother 90- odd years old not got insurance. After the war we were all bought up with the Royal London and London Victoria insurance. My old nan paid a penny a week for her insurance. We all know we are going to die, so was bought up to insure ourselves. Do you think its right not do that, and ask strangers to pay for your burial. Where are her family, she must have children as she has grandchildren. Me I wont be helping her out. Paid for my funeral so my kids dont have to worry. Why should I help pay for someone else who couldn't be bothered to take out insurance. Or who's family just want a free ride.
There is tennis on both BBC1 and BBC2 at the same time - so for non sport lovers what are we paying a licence fee for ? apart from all the football there has also been motor racing on recently and athletics.
They should have a separate channel for sport and not disrupt all the usual programmes.
Fire broke out on the 12th story of a block of flats in Mile end today. Hope everyone is safe
My home phone is not working but my internet is, I am with Talk Talk but as far as i know it is a BT cable. I have tried all the unplugging - leave 5 mins then replug things but no result.
has anyone got any problems with BT and if so how come my internet is working ?
CO2 Shortage (Edited)
Some pubs have run out of certain beers and soon will of other ones, I expect there will soon be a shortage of bottled beer & fizzy drinks in the shops too - just watch the prices go up as well, panic buying is also on the cards.
What other things will it affect ?
Just sat and waited 3 and a half hours for the gas safety check- only to be told when he came they won't bother as i am having a new boiler in 4 weeks. Why did they even bother to make the appointment ?
All the old blocks are supposed to be off now but there is still one thread [maybe more for all I know] that I am unable to comment on and that doesn't show up in my activity list - only in recent activity on the right side.
CONVICTION - MURDER IN SUBURBIA
Anyone watch episode 1 of this last night ? [episode 2 tonight]
What do you think - is he guilty ?
Upskirting 2 (Edited)
As I can't comment on that thread [ for some unknown reason] i have started this on here.
To make it fair i am going to Scotland to do some upkilting
Something weird is going on, had a friend send to me that that can't see anything on Scooploop, another friend has said certain photos have gone missing from Havering Streets, and another friend says she sent a text to my mobile - but it's not there. Seems like the Twilight Zone has hit things.
I am finding it a bit difficult to keep up with all this on here now - what with general activity, friends activity and now replies to comments on friends activity where you have to click onto replies and then scroll down them all to get the most recent one. There needs to be a way to go direct to the most recent or un-read reply.
I think it is getting like gang warfare on here now, just because some people don't like a certain someone else whatever that person says is wrong and meets with scorn and accusations of nastiness.
Now it seems no one is allowed to comment on or give a 'helpful' on that persons remarks without being ostracised.
I find this very hypocritical as it was these people that were the ones to complain of nastiness in the first place.
Gardens have disappeared (Edited)
The thread about gardens with some photos on has disappeared, is this because Peter has left again and all his stuff comes off ?
Seems rather unfair that other peoples comments and their photos have been deleted
Can anyone tell me a pub restaurant with a round table to sit 12, not too far. Thank you
Always query these .................
Today in the post I received the renewal for my contents insurance, it had gone up from last year by £35 without any claims being made. When I had an on line chat with the company they brought it down by £30. So, if I hadn't queried it they would have automatically taken the larger amount from my bank account.
As this seems unfair practice and I have been quoted cheaper for a higher sum insured with another company I have cancelled the renewal. Their loss.
just to give you all a laugh at my expense ...........
went to switch on lamp, bulb went - got another bulb, didn't work tried another bulb - still didn't work. Thought 'fuse' rummaged about for a 3 amp fuse and screwdriver - changed fuse in plug, plugged in still didn't work - wrong plug !!. Found right plug and done fuse - new bulb working okay.
On way back from lamp tripped over laptop cable and knocked everything off table.
Think I'll have an early night before i do any more damage.
