Woman sacked for helping elderly customers pay for shopping.
A woman who had worked in a bakery shop for 40 years has been sacked.
The shop manager had decided that customers had to pay by card only, but most of the older customers that were only buying one small bloomer loaf and a teacake, only had cash. So the woman serving them was taking their money, and then paying using her own card.
That is why she was sacked.
She said she couldn't face turning away so many of their regular customers
