    Why there are empty homes

There are far too many empty homes in the UK although councils were given the rights to deal with the issue long ago.

Most do not seem to have done much, even the ones that have employed staff, or opened departments and are entitled to compulsory purchase properties and having use of a service to trace ownership.

Will this be another thing that the government will be expected to deal with. Personally I feel it’s seems a little bit like these diversity staff, a waste of money if they are not achieving a benefit to the councils and more importantly to those waiting for accommodation.

Do you know of a council that can boast of how well they have done?

Has your council got one of these departments or officers?
