Who or what is Mayall Road in Brixton named after?
The road has its own wikipedia entry and hundreds of historic articles due to the Brixton Riots, but I still can not figure out what the "Mayall" in Mayall Road stands for.
Some people claim it is related to John Mayall, the the First Cyclist to ride from London to Brighton in 1869(?), but i can not find any official confirmation for that.
I also heard british photographer John Jabez Edwin Mayall names as a suspect.
Anyone from the area has more information on this?
