Last week MPs voted to pass the Trade Bill without the amendments to uphold the UK’s high food standards.
While this isn’t the outcome we wanted, we want to say a big thank you to the 25,000 people who emailed their MP. Our team here at Which? was overwhelmed and heartened by your support and dedication.
During the debate several MPs mentioned the emails - it sent a powerful message about the importance of food standards and the strength of public feeling on this issue.
The Trade Bill was not our only chance for change and we're not going to stop fighting now. We'll keep you updated on proceedings as the Bill progresses through the House of Lords in the autumn. We still have time to protect our UK food standards.
