USA unemployed dilemma
Watching some CNN last night. US unemployment is over 35 million, more than the population of Canada. But now all 50 states have started to re-open and former employees are being offered their old jobs back. But they have a dilemma. For a lot of the low paid workers like hospitality and shop staff the unemployment money is 3 times what their wages would be.
One woman interviewed says she earned about $150 a week working but was getting $350 on unemployment. She'd been able to pay off all her debts. Now she's been offered her job back she didn't know what to do. Said she would rather earn her money rather than live on handouts but the amoint she would lose was making her think twice.
