    Time to get a Smart Meter

    Had an email last week from Shell Energy that was a bit waffly but basically said the Smart Metering Systems ltd would be contacting me about installing a Smart Meter. It is one of the new 2nd generation meters that will now still work when I change suppliers. So this time I'm happy to go ahead.

    Girl from SMS phoned today to book me in for a date in October. So many questions to answer including one I didn't know the answer too. Is the emergency cut off lever by the gas meter red or yellow? Apparently it depends which engineer I get.

    I almost got a Smart Meter installed a few years ago before I was aware of the issues. A man from Siemens turned up but decided he couldn't do it until I had the house completely rewired. I spoke to my brother who is a qualified electrician. He said that's rubbish.
