The Lone Ranger 2013
Although now a 6 year old film being shown on TV. This is a film worth watching and reviewing. Directed by Gore Verbinski of Pirates of the Caribbean and Rango, starring Johnnie Depp, Arnie Hammer, Ruth Wilson and Helena Bonham Carter.
The first feature length film on this subject based on a radio show, for 32 years.
Although around 160 minutes long I was (once again) transfixed even on my second viewing in recent years. As always Johhnie Depp is convincing in the unusual role of Tonto and rather than being the Lone Ranger's sidekick steals the show. The white horse (later known as Silver) is comical without seeming bizarre or ridiculous.
A must watch in my books. Made by Disney and apparently a box office flop...but it was up against Despicable Me2 at the time!
