Earlier on, I was on my way to Waitrose at Greenwich; two people muttered something before we passed each other, I sensed it wasn't at me, but it was at the young woman ahead of me, who had stopped walking, because she looked upset, so I had to ask her what had happened
Apparently, one of them had spatted at her as they passed each other, and this had happened three times already since she came from Vietnam to the UK in January to work
The young woman was smartly dressed for work, she had a pleasant manner, it was very unlikely she would deliberately provoke anyone to spat at her, more likely, she was an easy target for cowards and bullies
