    Taking baby for a walk

Can any of you young ladies remember when young, Knocking at a door and asking to take their baby for a walk. When young we as kids ourselves, used to knock and ask to take a baby for a walk. For money of course. We used wheel the big pram to the park and sit on a bench, never had a watch so didn't know how long we was there for. Used to get maybe sixpence or if lucky a shilling when we took the baby back. Can you imagine kids doing that now, no nor can I. lol. But it was the normal thing to do in those days no one thought it wrong or odd. Would run an errand for threepence. All those old folk who couldn't toddle down the road to get the loaves of bread or their baccy, relied on us kids to run errands for them.
