Sixty Six (Netflix)
Sweet and heartfelt , funny and ironic , this film is about a 12 year old Jewish lad whose Bar Mitzvah is planned for the day of the 1966 cup final. We laughed out loud as he prays and tries to jinx or curse the England team hoping they won’t be in the final. But of course we know they will be. With Helena Bonham Carter as his Mum, Eddie Marsan as his Father, and Catherine Tate as his Aunt, it couldn’t go far wrong. Clever and witty, give it a watch on one of these awful rainy afternoons . It brightened our day!
