I was listening to an article on the radio about potholes, the number of which is expected to increase due to the recent bad weather. When we had that bad weather of storm after storm a few years ago, it wrecked the roads, including my street, so I bought a few bags of ready made concrete (postcrete) and filled in 4 or 5 holes after dark. I also added a few stones. This cost me about £10 and the patchwork is still effective. Of course, I could have used the cheaper option of spraying a giant phallus around each hole to make the council take action (somebody did that somewhere).
