Whilst having a lot of similarities to Jane Austen and other regency era based films and series - this film does stand apart
Mr Malcolm has become rich, worried women want him only for his money he composes a list which to him represents the perfect wife .
After a date with him ends unsatisfactorily for Julia, she finds herself ridiculed and embarrassed she decides to reek revenge and sets up a friend to court him, hoping he will fall in love with her , so she can then provide a ‘list’ which excludes him!
Things do not go to plan.
