Godfather of AI resigns
Geoffrey Hinton sold his company DNN Research to Google, and led research there into artificial Intelligence. He has been called The Godfather of AI. He recently resigned due to concerns about the damage that AI could cause through misuse.
He believed that AI would become smarter than people in 30 to 50 years, but warns that this could happen much sooner. He left Google to give him the freedom to talk about the perils of AI.
