    Glaucoma/visual field test

Yesterday I went to the PRU at Farnborough for my annual eye check. I wasn't asked to do a visual field test as I usually do. Eventually the consultant yelled my name from right across the waiting area and then disappeared into one of the rooms. Fortunately I'm mobile enough to run and see where he went but others might not be able to. When I got in there he said the good news was there was no more nerve damage - I thought that was decided by the visual test. Then he had a quick look in my eyes and said "oh, you've got a tiny bit of age related macula disease...nothing to worry about, just eat plenty of greens and broccoli. See you in 12 months...and with this I was shown the door. I was so surprised/shocked I just left.

Now I've had time to think about it I'm bloody annoyed with him and myself.

Does anyone know if they can now determine nerve damage without the visual test?
