    Advise central heating

I understand a few of you got some excellent advise from some members but forgot who it was.
We had some radiators staying cold in some parts also the thermostats on some rads were not working.
I had the thermostats renewed and as a neighbour recommended to have self venting valves on radiators I asked this to be done. However heating engineer said they were no good and he would put big self venting valves in the roof. I can not climb into the roof but understand he put two in.
In the meantime we had the shutdown so work will be completed in the future namely he recommended to have a magnet in roof to clean out system.1. What do you think about the magnet?
In the meantime the radiators are worse then before. Hissing and one can hear the water gurgling very loud. The oil boiler is in the garage and the pump can be heard like a steam engine, very frightening. Have been going around to air the radiators but there is so much air in them I never get to the point were the water comes to the top as my back is starting to hurt with bending over.
Would be grateful for your advise. Will give him a ring but like to hear first what some of you think. Thank you.
