Covering the Uncoverable... (Edited)
Simon & Garfunkel's classic "The Sound of Silence" is one of those songs that you cannot imagine anyone covering, at least, not in a way that's a patch on the original.
This stunning cover, however, is sufficiently different to be able to stand alongside the original masterpiece, but more than good enough to establish a reputation of its own.
(Don't be put off by the thumbnail! The singer, David Draiman, has an incredible voice.)

What's your favourite recordings?
Thought it would be an idea for everyone in the group to post an example of the type of music they particulary like. To kick us of here are the Travelling Wilburys with End of the line.

In the hope of waking this group up (sadly moderator doesn’t seem to be around) I thought I would post something - a musical choice of mine, coming from comments after a quiz on another thread.
Maybe a strange or at least unexpected liking or choice for someone of my age group.

Would any other members like to share their unusual or maybe unexpected choices of music?
Another completely bonkers one!

Hello, my name is Kim, and I play guitar, recorder, and keyboard, amongst other things. I've just heard about this group, and was invited to join by @CharlotteB
I look forward to seeing all your posts, and will certain start some new threads in this group, in due course.
Hello (Edited)
Hi all
Just found this little group and hope that you are all still here to share musical interests. However I may not be welcome as I am certainly not a musician , performer or writer myself.
I like most music from the 50’s onwards but I suppose I know more of the 70’s than other era’s as that was when I was a teenager following the likes of Marc Bolan, Alvin Stardust, David Cassidy or even the Osmonds. Also enjoying the music of Neil Sedaka, The Carpenters and of course the still superb Stevie Wonder.
please join and chat or meet up (Edited)
if you are into music please join and get involved, i am into music from the 1950s onwards but i am open to all kinds of music, my big influence came in 1966 with psychedelic music, what was yours?
