2016 film Keanu
Billed as a comedy action film. At times violent and with extreme bad language, this film surprisingly revolves around a cute kitten. And how far a man and his friend will go to get him (Keanu) back when he is stolen by a frightening gang of drug dealers.
On netflix. With a twist at the end and a hilarious surprise with who played some of the parts its a MUST WATCH.
Tip: watch after the titles ☺
PS Keanu Reeves's voice is used during a sequence where the kitten 'talks' 😀

Stranger Things: Season 3. Haven't seen yet.
I watched season 1 and 2. First one - obviously great. Second one - far worse but it was still worth watching.
Based on the information above, shall I bother to watch the season 3? ;)
Anyone seen it yet? -
Most anticipated movie right now ...
I think mine is "Once upon a time in Hollywood" ... Tarantino, Charles Manson, DeCaprio & Brad Pitt, what can possibly go wrong?

Best quote from a movie in 2019 - so far
OK I know its only the end of July, but what's your best movie quote of 2019?
Gonna put mine in the comment.
(@CitizenW I know yours already ;) ) -
Another horror type movie. Certificate 15. Filmed as if the children involved are making a documentary about the visit to the grandparents whom they have never met.
Spooky and chilling , the children quickly notice something isn't right. Creepy and in places quite terrifying. Then there's the twist.
Would recommend. But glad I didn't watch it alone. -
Until I noticed this on Netflix I had never heard of it but I read later that is was one of the most profitable and successful films of 2017, and won an award for its original screenplay.
Wow I can see why. Not my usual genre at all. Blew my mind. Fabulous, frightening, thrilling, intriguing, remarkably clever, twists and turns and very well named: in the last half hour I must have screamed 'get out' at least 20 times (what must my neighbours think). -
This was on TV last night and I have to admit I only watched it as a last resort, as I couldn't find anything else on TV.
But what a surprise I had. Admittedly lots of bad language and very unrealistic and far fetched but so very funny. And it even had an old fashioned American style moral to it.
The good guys won. In more ways than one. They learnt from their mistakes and everyone lived happily ever after. Watch it if you can. You will SMILE. -
I've seen it last Sunday - and I must say I quite liked it. Not as good as the first one, but still quite cheeky.
Kevin Hart as Snowball great as before.
Best scene: Chloe being high with White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane in the background ;)
If anyone one is after a light and non-tiring movie that's a safe bet.

Chernobyl - a must see apparently
Anyone here watched it? I haven't yet myself, but shortly planning to.
The rating speaks for itself and everyone who seen it is amazed apparently - so my hopes are very high.

I would totally forget we have this Green Book review we did with DImi.

How to slaughter a great book: Amazon's Man in the High Castle (Edited)
When I read that Amazon would turn Phillip K Dicks Novel into a TV Series I was sceptical and rightly so. To be honest, I only watched a few episodes and then gave up, but what really pissed me off was how much they missed the core message of the book.
The worst in the TV Series is the concept of the "resistance". In the book there is no resistance, people accept the world ( in which the Nazis and Japan have won the war and occupied the US ) as the "logical" historical outcome, they can't imagine a different course of history. The only character in the book who could be perceived as "resistance" is a german officer who is extremely disillusioned and pragmatic, to the depressing extend that his only "hope" is to support the SS versus the german army ( which wants a nuclear war ).
And this is the whole point of the novel, the fact that there is a book inside the novel most of the characters read or hear about which shows them that there ARE possibilities and that history could have ( and still can ) take a very different course. They all at some point get it on a different level, either understanding that the book is a threat or something which gives hope. Simply understanding that the world doesn't have to be like this IS the message. Amazon's series tries something simlar with "forbidden films" but it just doesn't work, because it is not about getting hold of that film material ( as in the series ) but about the idea.
As a sidenote, in that way Amazon did to the novel a similar thing the movie version did to "V for Vendetta".

First half of the year it’s slmost over, Which one is the best movie so far you have seen?

Tolkien - any good? (Edited)
Anyone seen Tolkien movie? I love Tolkien as writer but on the fence to watch the movie. I heard it didn't cover most basic things about his life, so bit off-putting.
