James Stewartβs poem about his dog named Beau
Was just talking about James Stewart on another post and this wonderful actor wrote a poem about his dog called Beau. Iβll bet you all will cry at the end ... there are two versions, one is on Johnny Carson show in States, another with Terry Wogan... I prefer the latter.
Just google. James Stewart dog poem.
See his pictures with other dogs.

My son's 6yr old boy is very upset, his dog "Bella" who is only 15 months old is seriously ill after a substance that has caused her to have swollen face and body, after the vets tried antibiotics etc he was relocated to the major medical vet centre where he was examined internally and found that he was swollen inside as well. They have given him a slight chance of recovery.
How do you explain and reassure a young child at this time?
What do you think of mixed breeds which seem to be the fashion lately?
Some can look good, ie. Cockapoo
This is a Dalmachshund.. try pronouncing that!!
Although pretty to me this poor dog looks out of proportion?
My son has quite a few visitors to his workplace and some bring their four legged friends.
This is Franco, the Frenchie π»
Heavy showers predicted so I wore my waterproof jacket, apart from a light shower it was dry and hot. How I hate that!
And wish they hadnβt!! Aah bless them. ππππππ
Having had dogs for over 50yrs (mainly crazy spaniels), two years ago after my last dog went to dog heaven my wife said that she was too nervous to have another one. (She has had a stroke and 3 lots of cancers on her face).
A friend told me about the Cinnamon Trust and I applied to become a volunteer, after the vetting process I was accepted and waited for the call.
It came a couple of weeks ago and I now walk Marley a 7yr old Lurcher for his owner who has dementia every Wednesday and if required on a Monday. Lovely walks in the countryside of Norfolk.
Relatives new French Bulldog meets their Portuguese Pointer.
(Just looked online and French Bulldogs puppies average Β£1,800. Good heavens.
Unfortunately a lot are being illegally bred).
Boris the long haired Dashchund (Edited)
My son in lawβs parents have just rescued little Boris who is settling in really well, but the funniest thing is whenever he hears PM Borisβs name mentioned on TV his ears prick up!! Brushed every day although you wouldnβt think it!!
A very rare West African dog breed (Edited)
Called an AZAWAKH. Very similar to a Greyhound or a Lurcher, except much larger.
I think it is beautiful and so graceful.
Sorry some of the pics came out twice!
I have rehomed three Greyhounds, now past. Wonderful dogs that have bad lives until rescued and taken into a caring home. If looking for an easy dog, only need 2 x 20 min walks a day, quite lazy, please rehome a Greyhound, Lurcher or Whippet.
This is Izzy sitting on her favourite seat in the garden. Sheβs watching the birds on the seed feeder.

Sick Dog? Easy to Digest Dog Food Guide
* The βEasy to Digestβ Diet and Dog Diarrhea
If your dog already tends to have a sensitive stomach that easily reacts to changes in the diet, a bland diet may be a good change of pace for your furry friend. An easy-to-digest diet will allow your dogβs stomach to rest easy and enjoy a lighter workload for some time.
In other cases, the best time to include easy-to-digest foods in your dogβs diet is when they are sick. If they have vomiting or diarrhea, easy-to-digest meals can help your dog heal faster. After the onset of vomiting or diarrhea, allow the dog to fast for at least six hours. Adult dogs can fast for up to 24 hours, and puppies can fast for up to six hours. During this time, you can offer your dog only water. Thereafter, slowly introduce a bland food diet to your dog. For small dogs, you can start one teaspoon at a time.
* Why Your Dogβs Stomach May Be Upset
In the case that your dog is either vomiting or has diarrhea it is important to find the cause. Identification of the original cause can aid in prevention in the future. Your dogβs stomach may be having issues for a number of reasons including:
. Your dog ate disagreeable βfoodβ (i.e. trash, a new type of dog food, food not made for a dogβs stomach)
. Your dog ate too much food, too fast
. Often identified by vomit beginning soon after eating
. Your dog ingested a toxic substance
. How Long to Use the Easily Digestible Diet
. Easy-to-digest meals are not meant for long-term use. They can serve their purpose across a short period of time, but do not provide all of the nutrients your dog needs to thrive. After no more than a few days, begin to incorporate some of your dogβs normal food to make sure the dogβs stomach has healed. If the dog has trouble holding down water or food for more than 12 hours, offer your dog some of the liquid recommendations below. If it appears something is wrong with the dog, take it to the vet in case an illness or disease has set in.
* The Easily Digestible Dog Diet for Dog Diarrhea
Simple foods with little flavor, no chemicals or preservatives are best to introduce to your dog. Any meat identified as being βboiledβ should be brought to the boiling point then brought down to a simmer for about 25 minutes. Allow all food to cool before offering it to your dog.
Luckily, the majority of these easy-to-digest foods are readily available in your pantry cabinetβs. In this diet you can incorporate some of the following, as your dogβs stomach bounces back:
. Boiled ground chicken breast
. Boiled ground beef
. Boiled ground turkey
. White or brown rice
. Oatmeal (cooked in water)
. Boiled potatoes
. Canned Pumpkin
. Non-fat, plain, yogurt
. Cooked sweet potatoes
. Fish (White fish is best)
. Probiotics
. Eggs
. Rice Water (The water leftover after rice is boiled)
. Low-sodium chicken broth
. Low-sodium beef broth
. Lots of water!!

*** Bark Post ***
Pick up a shower cap for your pup or pups and let them wear it during their bathβ¦it really helps prevent the soap and water from getting into their ears and eyes. Then when it is time to wash their little facesβ¦just pop it off! Just make sure to put it out of reach when you are doneβ¦we donβt want any chewing going on : )
*** Gadgets ***
With the warm weather hereβ¦I bet your pup would love a Frozen Treat Cake while you are all hanging outside for a bit! Come and check out Gus the Pug and his cakeβ¦see how it is made (really simple..brothβ¦waterβ¦toys and some treats all frozen together! ) There is a little video that shows us Gus attacking his little fun iceberg. This will keep your pup cool as you enjoy the outdoors and hydrated!
*** Practically Functional ***
Have you ever thought about recycling a tire? Well you just might give it a try once you see this DIY Dog Bed! Pretty amazing what a good scrubbingβ¦some PET SAFE Paint that sticks to rubber and a soft cushy pillow can do! You can find the details on Practically Functional! Isnβt Fawkes adorable! : )
*** Swipe TV ***
Do you have a doggie that gulps? Eats so fast he/she has no idea what it was that they ate? Well have you ever tried to put a tennis ball into the Dry Food Bowl (donβt try it for wet food : ). With the ball in the bowl it should slow down your pup a bit which will be a very good thing for digestion. Give it a tryβ¦just might be the trick. There are also dishes made especially for gulpersβ¦but this is a quick and easy way to see if it worksβ¦then if it doesβ¦it may pay to get a specialty bowl.
*** Dog Tutorial ***
Does your pup have a touch of stinky breath? You can finely chop some fresh parsley and add it to your doggies foodβ¦dryβ¦wet or homemade! Just chop it fine enough so they canβt pick it outβ¦mix it well and it should help. Over at Dog Tutorial you will find other methods to keep your dogs breath fresh like keeping your dog bowl and water bowlβ¦crystal cleanβ¦having a well balanced diet and some other wonderful suggestions. If your doggie suffers from really bad breathβ¦the best thing to do is to see the Vet to assess exactly what is happening! But Parsley is a great way to freshen it up and you can do it every day with no problems!

Pet Basket (Edited)
I am looking for a basket so my dog (about 10kg) can sit on my bike. The pic belows is my bike pannier rack. I been looking on Amazon but they are either made for tiny dogs or very expensive. My dog used to sit on the baby chair for bicycle as well. TIA!
Can anyone please recommend effective dog flea treatments? We have tried everything on our dog such as: shower her with vegan flea shampoo + spray apple cider vinegar, put apple cider vinegar into her drinking water, flea drop. Nothing seems to work!!!
She was so sick after the flea drop as well so I might not do it again. TIA!
Advice for someone looking to buy a puppy?
Hello fellow dog lovers. I am considering getting g a puppy next year now that my work commitments have subsided and I have the time to care for a dog properly. Can anyone give me some advice regarding how to avoid puppy farmers and what signs to look for, when buying a puppy?
