Strangers Rifling through Bins (Edited)
My partner spotted someone this week rifling through our bins. Apparently when she saw him, he saw her out of the corner of his eye and rushed off to his car and drove off in a hurry.
I cross shred all of my documents/letters anyway, but it's still a bit concerning. Seems like an attempt at identity theft/fraud. Just be vigilant and shout out if you see anything suspicious where you are! -

What’s More Eco-Friendly, a Real Christmas Tree or a Fake One?
Doing a bit of digging into this and shocked to read the following: "In order to match the energy used to create and transport the fake trees, you would need to reuse the tree for almost 20 years." If you were thinking about getting an artificial tree this year, maybe you'd consider a real tree? There are lots of places where you can buy a tree locally, so no need to drive miles and rack up your carbon footprint. https://relevantmagazine.com/article/is-your-christmas-tree-good-for-the-environment-update/

Would you like to help someone do the things they love?
Side by Side is a new service preventing isolation and keeping people with dementia active and engaged in their community, enabling them to continue to ‘be themselves’ and live well with the condition, through regular (usually weekly) one-to-one meetings. As a volunteer, you will enable someone to continue (or start) participating in social and recreational activities, helping them to keep doing things they love such as listening to music, cooking, meeting up with friends or taking a walk in the park. Your support gives them the confidence to take part and to value their own abilities, talents and potential to contribute and achieve. I have got a very good cleaner who has got a lot of work experience. She is reliable and hard working person but her English is not perfect (she can understand you, and just in case you can contact me). She can do ironing as well. Please contact me if you need someone to help you at home. -
Wimbledon Beekeepers’ Association is very keen for local people to take up beekeeping on their own private land, particularly in large gardens.
Separately, the association is looking for land, such as unused parts of allotment sites, scraps between other developments, to use as apiaries, with perhaps 20 hives.
For an apiary, a plot about the size of a tennis court, screened from the public view and with vehicle access is ideal.
