Event: Winter Season at Eureka! (24 November 2018–6 January 2019)
Start Date: 06.01.2019. Start Time: 12:00
Location: Eureka!, Discovery Road, Halifax, HX1 2NE
This winter, however, are three more reasons for those with small people to head to Halifax faster than a speeding sleigh.
A Place for the Winter is a new special 30 minute interactive show, free with standard admission. Aimed at ages 3-7, curious Dormouse is not as keen to hibernate as his more experienced animal friends. Follow the adventures of Dormouse and Hedgehog to find the right place to rest before Old Man Winter arrives. Expect a captivating experience from Eureka!’s talented team, always on point in engaging the most fidgety.
A museum might not be the most obvious place to visit Santa but Eureka!’s Grotto has gained rave parental reviews for its interactivity and theatrical elves. We love that for an hour each day an autism-only grotto means those with autism don’t miss out. The grotto is adjusted as needed – no music, lights or even beards, it’s your choice.
We’ll also be heading to brand new exhibition the Patternarium. Exploring how digital tech and mechanical machines can interact to make mind-blowing patterns, experiences include generating shapes, patterns and artworks using pedal bikes, giant kaleidoscope, beams of light, torches and glow-sticks. Let us at it.
Other highlights to explore including testing what your body can do and exploring a realistic health centre in All About Me, exploring Eureka!’s child-sized town (where you can even withdraw and spend Eureka!’s currency) and also the Desert Discovery and Sound Garden for under 5s.
