    What are your exercise recommendations?

According to the Department of Health, exercise reduces your risk of major illnesses—such as heart disease, strokes, type 2 diabetes and cancer— by up to 50%. It also boosts self-esteem, mood, sleep quality and energy, as well as reducing your risk of stress, depression, dementia and Alzheimer's disease.

A combination of regular aerobic and strength exercises are ideal. Running, cycling, swimming or tennis are examples of aerobic activity. Strength exercises—such as weight training—should work all the major muscles (legs, hips, back, abdomen, chest, shoulders and arms). Being active daily really helps too, including things like walking, stretching, gardening or cleaning. It's good to avoid sitting for long periods of time, and to break the day up with short bouts of activity, even if only for minutes at a time.

What are your tips for getting exercise in the local area? If someone has never had a regular exercise regime before, where could they start?
