Unusual taste of Royal Gala apples from Lidl
I've noticed a distinct aniseed/fennel flavour hint in the latest bag of Royal Gala apples from Lidl. Washing them hard makes no difference. So, I'm wondering what could be the source of this flavour, which is not unpleasant but I wonder if this can be anything sinister.
