    Uber London License stripped

TFL have rejected Uber's application for a new license on the basis that the company is not a “fit and proper” private car hire operator. I think this was a terrible idea. There are so many people who rely on Uber to get them home in London. Night busses are infrequent and the tube only runs overnight on the weekend. I personally can't afford a black cab and without the option to get an Uber, my social life is going to suffer.

I know many people who work late and stay out until the early hours and are coming home from Central London in the early hours of the morning - the only reason they can do this is because Uber is a quick and efficient way of getting home.

And don't get me started on the job loss, this article states there are more than 40,000 Uber drivers in the city. That is over 40,000 jobs lost, 40,000 people not getting a wage.

I hope Uber win their legal battle. And perhaps if Black Cabs lowered their ridiculously high prices, people wouldn't have been so inclined to look elsewhere anyway.
