Traditional Folk Music
A few local friends and I have recently discovered that playing our musical instruments together, rather than on our own at home, has proved not just effective but much more enjoyable.
We play some Irish traditional tunes, along with music from further afield, on a variety of acoustic instruments and take things slowly at first but, with practice, trial and error, we find our confidence growing and then gain great satisfaction in recognising our efforts as being the same tunes that have been played, listened and danced to for generations.
If you have ever wanted to join a traditional session in a pub, but didn't know how, or lacked confidence ( just like me ) this might be the way.
