Rochdale by-election result
Probably the craziest by-election in years. Safe Labour seat with no Labour candidate. Former Labour candidate disqualified for saying something about the Gaza conflict that may well be true.
By-election won by George Galloway of the Workers Party. 2nd in the voting was an independent candidate. All the main parties finished well down.
The was a funny moment when a young person equated Gaza with Gazza. "we have to support Gaza because he once played for England".
But what I thought was most noticeable about the result was what sore losers Reform UK are. Richard Tice, their leader, moaning the result was unfair and this was not democracy.
