Reminiscing - 1980
1980 - the year our twin boys were born (joining our other 3 year old son) so my memory of other events that year are few!
But hits that year included

- Alton Towers was opened
- West Ham won the FA Cup whilst in the Second Division beating Arsenal in the final
- Miners threaten to strike over a 37% pay rise claim
- US cruise missiles were stored at Greenham Common leading to CND rallies and protest vigils
- John Lennon was shot dead outside Dakota Building in NYC
- Michael Foot's hopes of becoming prime minister in the next general election were given a boost by an MORI poll which showed Labour on 56% with a 24-point lead over the Conservatives - shows how little faith you can have in polls!!
