    Reminiscing - 1954

    In 1954 Johnnie Ray made No 1 in the UK charts with a song that was banned by the BBC and a hit in the 60s for Elvis - Such a night. In my opinion, Johnnie Ray was the first pop star - he wrote a lot of his own songs including Cry which pre-dated UK charts in 1951 and the ladies all screamed for him at concerts. Were you one of the screamers ladies?
