All welcome to Transition Town Tooting's fun creative workshop for adults & children where we'll use old umbrellas and scrap materials to create exciting sculptures in Sprout Art Gallery. Transforming the lost umbrellas of Tooting, we'll be the Jellybrella artists - making our community beautiful with stories & hands-on making together.
Neglected umbrellas will come alive with their trailing tentacles of many colours as proud makers parade them. If it rains…we’ll have our Jellybrellas!
Our storyteller will move us with tales of lost & found umbrellas & living with less waste, helping us all be artists taking care of the health & wellbeing of our neighbours, community & city.
On Saturday 11th May the event starts at 10am until 4pm, all materials provided - if you like please bring your own favourite or neglected umbrella (surprise us!) to transform into a Jellybrella! Come for the whole day or drop in - allow 2 hours to make the most of the fun. We can’t wait to see what you create & at the end you can take away your Jellybrella or leave it with us for exhibition locally in Tooting Community Garden.
