How are loops doing at the moment member participation wise?

I just wondered how Loops are doing at the moment with members participating?
The few groups I am in are very quiet with few people taking part at all . I myself have been quiet on them myself as every thread seems to break down into point scoring or personal attacks and I cannot be bothered with the same arguments. I notice a lot of regulars in them have been silent and I wondered if they felt this way or simply weren't interested in the conversation topics? Is there anything that can be done to bring all of the lovely members whom I always enjoy reading back to posting? Or is it simply time to find ( or create) a new Loop?
