Ecocide Petition.
I have started a Petition on the Government Petition site to press to "Amend the Rome Statute to restore the crime of Ecocide" which was included in the original draft of the Statute. It was removed then, but clearly the circumstances we now face justify it being restored. It is certainly a crime against Humanity!
Any single signatory of the Statute ( UK is one ) can request an amendment.
This Petition is asking the Government to submit that request. If it reaches 100,000 signatures, it will be debated in the House of Commons & hopefully acted upon.
International Corporations & renegade Governments who are driving much of the destruction cannot be tackled by individual countries, International Law needs to be in place to do this.
I hope you will feel able to sign &, if keen, spread it far & wide through your contacts.
