    Drinking alcohol on Tooting Streets

I received this response from Adama Fregiste
    Community Safety Officer (Tooting Sector)
""Thank you for contacting the Community Safety Division. I do remember you contacting us back in December 2016 when we were conducting a public consultation for the Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO).

After the consultation, it was decided that the existing Designated Public Place Order (DPPO) should be converted into a PSPO focusing solely on anti-social street drinking. The PSPO covers Tooting Town centre and parts of the Graveney ward including your road (Himley Road). It gives the police the power to confiscate alcohol from anyone who is drinking and causing anti-social behaviour. If they refuse to surrender their alcohol then they can be fined or arrested. The Tooting local police team do regular patrols in the area and enforce the PSPO as often as they can. During a one week operation in June, the police confiscated and disposed of 100 sealed and unsealed containers of alcohol from the street drinkers. The police will continue to do these type of operations during the summer.

I hope this information gives you some reassurance, we are working in partnership to make Tooting a safer place. Please remember to report all incidents on anti-social behaviour to the police by calling 101. ""
so -you also have a Tooting Community Safety contact and, know, if you have drunks on your street in this area they should be dealt with
