Citizens Assembly on climate change in action
Oxford City Council like many other councils declared a climate emergency. They decided to hold a Citizens’ Assembly to consider a key question about whether they could be more ambitious than the government in setting a target for lowering carbon emissions. They decided that they could. Citizens Assemblies are one of Extinction Rebellion’s key demands. This link is worth looking at - it shows the assembly in action - who was consulted, briefing papers, presentations, questions. I found it very interesting and encouraging.
