Cash stolen in Richmond today
I went to Lloyds bank in Richmond today to draw out £600 to pay a bill. I went into the bank to get the money for security reasons and put it in an envelope and in a zipped pocket inside my zipped bag. When I got to the station, a few minutes later, I noticed my bag was open and the money gone. How on earth I felt nothing I will never understand but clearly they were professionals who saw me in the bank. The road was busy but if anyone saw it they said nothing. The bank has no CCTV (I went back) and weren't surprised this had happened. I tried to ring 101 and was told I'd have a long wait so I decided to go to Richmond police station. It was closed... So in desperation I rang 999 because I was getting nowhere (great for the crims) and eventually an officer appeared who took me into the station. He wasn't in the least surprised at what had happened and told me Richmond is a great target as people tend to have money on them. I'm still waiting for them to send me a crime reference number. The state of our police is dreadful. Even the CCTV that the police have won't be looked at until 6 this evening and there's no one to look at it. We need money to be poured into the police services and we need to know who's here, maybe illegally otherwise others will suffer the violation I experienced this morning. It has been horrendous. Please please everyone, put your cash somewhere on your body and hide it away from these evil people.
