    British native mammals quiz

    The Mammal Society site lists 28 native mainland British terrestrial mammals. Two of these are previously native mammals that have been reintroduced since becoming extinct in GB. So, to clarify, the list does not include:

    1. introduced or naturalised species (such as rats, grey squirrels and rabbits);

    2. terrestrial mammals only native to Ireland or British islands (such as the Shetlands);

    3. bats;

    4. seals, whales and dolphins found in and around British waters; or

    5. feral species of domesticated mammals (such as wild sheep or horses).

    How many of the 28 species can you name?

    No use of reference material or the internet of course to ensure fair play. Good luck.

    REMEMBER - NO POSTS instead you PM me with your guesses any time up to midnight tonight. If possible, please wait until you've completed all the guesses you want to make to avoid too many PMs and to make my job easier. So no hurry and it doesn't matter when you submit the answers because I'll be judging them solely on who has the most correct - and in the event of two or more being level it will be a tie. Feel free to change your mind on an answer you may have already given. I hope this is clear and good luck. Tomorrow I’ll post the names of the top entries.
