BEWARE TESCO CAR PARK SCAMMERS

CAR PARK SCAM, TESCO’s CAR PARK, OAKLEIGH ROAD NORTH, N20
As I returned to my car this morning at Tesco’s Car Park, Oakleigh Road North (end of Raleigh Drive), I was approached by a man who asked me if I’d registered to park. According to him the attendant had already been round and he said I’d be liable for the £70 fine unless I ‘registered’ by paying £1.65 by card into the outside ATM forthwith. As I went to check the machine a second man came up and gave me the same ‘advice’. I said I would check with the store but when I returned to the car park with the store assistant they had both disappeared. I suspect this is a card scam. Maybe they had some electronic scammer with them. I understand from the store that this isn’t the first time this has happened. Both men were of Asian appearance with short beards, proportional build, in their 30’S and average height. Beware- this could happen elsewhere! I have reported this information to the police.
