What do you consider to be the best year ever for popular music and why?
My choice would be 1958 because so many great artists came to prominence in that year - Buddy Holly, Paul Anka, Ricky Nelson, Bobby Darin, Connie Francis, Eddie Cochran, Jerry Leee Lewis, Marty Wilde, Cliff Richard, the Everlys. etc. 45rpm singles LPs began to be commonplace.
