Addiscombe Traffic Closures Update

"Works update - Thursday 29 August
As part of this programme we have been carrying out work at Addiscombe Road Bridge to re-waterproof the structure, carry out repairs and resurface the road.
Unfortunately, due to circumstances not in our control this work will not be completed as expected on Sunday night. Instead it will continue into next week, commencing Monday 2 September until further notice.
This delay is caused by the discovery of a gas leak in the area prior to the start of work on Friday 23 August. For safety reasons this prevented our work from starting until it had been repaired. We had hoped to be able to recover the time with additional machinery and resources, but it is now clear this will not be possible.
Further to this, while carrying out work a pre-existing water main leak was discovered on Wednesday 28 August. We are expecting this to be repaired by Thames Water today, Friday 30 August, but this is why we are unable to confirm the end date for the road closure at this stage."
